Singleness and why you should wait

Do not settle out of loneliness and desperation

So many are jumping around from one relationship to another because they want to fill a void that only God can fill. People think that a relationship with a man or woman is going to make them truly happy and content in the moment. It may be temporary, but what you really need is a relationship with God first. When you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, all other relationships will fall into place.

Allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct your life. Allow Him to bring the right person into your life at the right time. Allow God to work on your heart, preparing you for the one that He has for you. Allow Him to heal you and deliver you from the things that you need healing and deliverance from. Allow God to shape, make, and mold you into the wife or husband that you need to be for your spouse.

A relationship with the wrong person is not going to work in the long term. It is going to fall apart because it was not destined by God. When you are with the right person that God has destined you to be with, you will be bound to stay together no matter what happens because the relationship was predestined by God.

So wait on the Lord and His perfect timing to be with the right spouse He has for you. Do not settle out of loneliness and desperation. When the Lord sees you are ready, He will send the right person into your life. But for right now focus on your relationship with Jesus Christ, and growing in your faith and fulfilling your purpose.

Use your gifts and talents for the glory of God. Serve one another and be a good steward of what God has given you for His glory. You will be most glad you did rather than settling for the wrong person who may be a counterfeit.

Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."
Song of Solomon 8:4 says, "I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please."
