Obeying God and keeping His commands

How to obey God?

Many people do not know how to obey God. Many think that obeying God is doing all these religious rituals and customs. But obeying God is more than that. God is not looking at religion. He is looking at a relationship with us.

When we obey God, it is because we love Him. Jesus said, " If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15 You may think that keeping Jesus Christ commands is a burden or is hard to do. 1 John 5:3 says, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."

It is not grievous to keep the commands of God. It is more so a blessing than a burden. Blessings follow our obedience to God and His commands. When we are walking in obedience it is because we love God. It is not to get something from Him or to earn His love, grace, and favor. We cannot earn our salvation by keeping God's commands either.

Ephesians 2:8-10 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
