Comparison

Accepting yourself and your life

It can be so easy to compare ourselves when we are on social media or in person. We scroll through our news feeds on social media and see what looks to be picture perfect lives. By looking at peoples pictures, it looks like they have the most perfect lives. It looks like they have everything going for them. It looks like they have the perfect marriage, the perfect job, the perfect child, etc.

When in reality they are struggling just like we are. They are going through their own battles. We do not see that behind a screen. We do not see the hurt, the pain, the sorrow that that person is going through. We do not see what that person went through to get to where they are at now. We do not see the sleepless nights, the tears, the pain and suffering they are going through to get to where they are now.

So it makes you look at people differently when you are scrolling through peoples pictures on social media. It makes you see them as a regular human being with flaws and imperfections instead of perfect. Because ultimately there is no perfect human being, but Jesus Christ. He was the most perfect man to ever walk the earth. We all have stumbled and fallen but we get back up when we fall. We repent, turn away from our sins, and turn back to the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:12 says,"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Psalm 139:14 says, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."
