Change and how to prepare for a move

what to do before you move

You may be preparing to move, whether that is a physical move or a spiritual move. Maybe  you are moving to a new city, state, or country. Or maybe you are moving to a new school or job. Or maybe you are about to get married and have children. Whatever the move may be, we can prepare ourselves ahead of time. I am going to be sharing how you can prepare for a move.

First, you want to declutter your home. You want to get rid of things that no longer serve you. You want to get rid of things that you are no longer going to use. You can even throw things out that are garbage and be generous with your resources. You can give to the poor and needy. When you do that, you are sowing into the kingdom of God. You will bear fruit for eternity.

The next step you want to spend time in the presence of God. It helps to listen to God speak to you to get guidance, direction, and instructions on where to go and what to do. You may need to tune out the distractions to focus in on what God has to say to you in the moment. You may need to be obedient to His voice and commands and follow His leading.

John 10:27 says, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

The next step you want to do to prepare for a move is to read your Bible. God also speaks through the written word of God and that is how we can get to know His voice and follow His commandments. That is also how we can grow in our faith and relationship with God.

After that you may want to plan what you are going to do. Write down on paper your vision and your goals for the year or for the month. Then, you can put into practice those goals and see them accomplished in your life. You may need to follow up with the Holy Spirit to make sure those goals align with God and His will for your life.
