Why Christians should not go on dating websites

Wait on God and His timing for a spouse

Many Christian today go on dating websites because they want to find love. They think that their mate is on these sites. I am not saying that God cannot use a dating website to help you find your spouse. What I am saying is that there are a lot of desperate people in these dating websites. There are also kidnappers and rapests on these dating websites. So we need to be careful. There are people on these dating websites that will take advantage of women and will want to date them just for sex.

It is not God's plan for people to use dating websites. Many on dating websites are lonely and desperate for attention. God would much rather a person wait on Him and His timing to date and marry. A woman is not the one who finds the husband, but it is the man that finds a wife.

So if you do want to find your wife or husband, then you may need to put yourself out there. You can do that by getting involved in some kind of ministry position or in a certain job position that the Holy Spirit may lead you to. Many couples find their spouses through schooling and ministry. But just be led by the Holy Spirit.

Then, pray to God to meet your God ordained spouse and to send that person to you. Don't be surprised if it takes years or even longer. God may be preparing you to meet that one in His timing. We just need to be patient with Him and His timing.

While we are waiting, we can be serving and going about our business or our day. It is when we do that, that God will bring in the spouse that we have been waiting for. Why because we were not looking for the spouse. We were trusting that God was going to do it in His timing. So while we were waiting we were working on the assignments that God has called us to work on.

When God sees that we are ready and faithful to the work He has assigned to us, then he can see that we are ready for a spouse and He will send that person across our path. We just need to trust in Him and His timing. We need to be willing to wait on His timing too and not rush Him or the process.

God may want to work on us first. We may need healing in certain areas of our lives before God can send the person He has for us into our lives.

Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."
